I was so blessed to have found Christina Jessel. I found her by googling madly one night a few months before our wedding as I had originally not planned to have my make-up done but had booked in to a local salon to have my hair put up. After a few conversations with the hairdressers I realised I had made a mistake and I needed to find someone who would come to our hotel to do not only my hair and makeup but the hair of my bridesmaids and flower girls. I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw Christina’s website and enquired as to whether she had availability.
Christina is one of these amazing souls who puts you at ease the minute you are in her company. Naturally for a bride, hair and make-up is a huge part of the day and a rather daunting one! When I went for my trial in Christina’s beautiful home, she was brilliant. So incredibly and naturally talented, she had lots of ideas and I loved all of them. I walked out of there and looked like a different woman….the make-up made my eyes look so defined but I didn’t feel like I had a lot on – perfect for me who doesn’t normally wear a great deal of make-up. My hair was simply gorgeous and even the taxi driver who picked me up said how nice I looked!!
On the day, the minute she walked into our room, the energy was fantastic. She was laughing, joking and just getting on with everybody. Her effortless manner of just getting everything done without fuss was perfect for our morning as there was a lot to do and a lot of activity with people coming in and out organising last minute details. One of my bridesmaids was late arriving so Christina kindly agreed to do my Aunty’s hair instead and my Aunt was over the moon with the results.
As the pictures show, Christina did a great job with us all and we all had a fantastic time in her company. If I won the lottery I would hire Christina every day to come and make me look fabulous!
All in all, Christina is a wonderful woman – gorgeous inside and out. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and will keep in touch with her as I now feel like she is a new friend.
What a lovely end to 2014, an amazing year of over 50 wonderful weddings, many shoots, fashion shows and the annual summer season with Glyndebourne Opera. To have my work featured on Rock My Wedding, the UK’s number 1 wedding blog as voted by Elle Magazine and Perfect Wedding Magazine is truly a lovely pat on the back!
Jo and Andrews glorious wedding day was featured on this No 1 blog and captured by the stunning work of photographer Dasha Caffrey.
Here’s what Jo had to say about her trial and wedding day…
“I wanted something relaxed but special for my hair and avoiding anything on the side, as a side bun is my staple go to hair style for most events. After chatting my ideas through with Christina Jessel at the trial, she got it in one and came up with exactly what I was after, even suggesting that the hair vine I had bought from Ivory & Co http://www.ivoryandcotiaras.co.uk/ could be intertwined at the back rather than being worn like a traditional hairband.
Christina was also my make up artist on the day and listened to me when I said I didn’t want too much foundation, didn’t want to look ‘too bridey’ and let me be fussy and do my own liquid eyeliner. She even managed to find a pinky red lipstick that didn’t wash me out, which I have spent the last 10 years looking for!”
Well I don’t remember so many compliments apart from on my wedding day! I lost count on how many people were amazed and extremely complimentary on my face makeup and outfit… David received some comments he kept his mask on all evening!
Make removal was quick & effortless…
Many many thanks to you again for helping me to achieve the statement look which was perfect end to a very memorial and emotional year!
Happy new Year and wishing you all the very best for 2015, enjoy your new year break..
Best wishes Doreen x “
Lovely to meet and work with Tess, James and Theo…meet Loxley. A luxury English Brand with leather bags of the highest quality .
Tess styled 3 looks to launch the ‘Look Book’ for Loxley , in the arty but interestingly shabby and light filled warehouse in Aldgate.
Really enjoyable to work with the talents and smiles of Rebecca the beautiful model for the day, James Robertshaw Photography and Videographer Mark Brown with his Super8 featuring!
Can’t wait to see the finished work!
